Review: Cover Girl Flamed Up MEGA CURL

Cover Girl Flamed Up MEGA CURL is part my my WEEKLY REVIEW 3/24/2014 I purchased mine at WALMART for $5.89CAD

This mascara is the second one in the FLAMED UP mascara by Cover Girl 

The BIGGEST difference between the two mascara is the BRUSH

The brush from the MEGA CURL is CURVED

The brush TAPERS down

HERE are my lashes WITHOUT any products

Lashes with ONE COAT of mascara and CURLED

PROS:

• Will add LENGTH

• Does NOT Smudge/Flake

CONS:

• Will NOT keep CURLS

• Will CLUMP

• Did NOT add volume (just clumped my lashes together)

OVERALL: I would ONLY recommend it to someone who is looking JUST for LENGTHENING. I found that the formula CLUMPED and DID not keep my eyelashes CURLED 

(Please REMEMBER that MY LASHES are different from yours...and they will usually NOT stay CURLED unless I use a WATERPROOF formula)

SPOTTED: Essence LOVE LETTER collection at Shopper's DrugMart

I spotted the Essence cosmetics "LOVE LETTERS" collection at my local Shopper's Drug Mart....On the Essence Website  the collection is ONLY suppose to be available between

 Jan 2014-Feb 2014

But I guess that is where stores will vary with their displays, I have seen other Shopper's Drugmarts with EVEN OLDER essence collection displays.

SPOTTED: Jergen's BB Body cream @ Walmart and Real Canadian Super Store

I know this product has been available in US for quit a few months...BUT I have JUST recently spotted it at WALMART and the Real Canadian Super Store (grocery chain)!!!

At the Real Canadian Super Store they were $8.99CAD

Surprisingly they more more expensive at Walmart ($10.49CAD)

They come in 2 shades (Light and Medium-Dark)

I will be trying these soon, so check back soon!!!

REVIEW: NYC in a New York Minute #267 Hamptons Peach

I am reviewing this product as a part of my Weekly Review3/24/2014

I did NOT use any base coat or top coats

PROS:

• Very Pigmented/Opaque (The TOP LEFT picture is just ONE coat of the polish)

• Adequate shine without TOP COAT

• Relatively FAST drying (about 2MIN to completely dry)

CONS:

• Can be STREAKY 

• Is NOT especially long lasting (started chipping on the 2nd day)

OVERALL: I would RECOMMEND this product, though I can not say it is the best/top nail polish from the drugstore.  The colour is very pigmented and opaque. If you use a top coat it will last longer! I will be trying other shades and update!

REVIEW: Herbal Essences Naked Dry Shampoo

This product is part of my WEEKLY REVIEW 

This is NOT the first time I have hauled this product. The first time, I haled the HERBAL ESSENCES COLOUR ME HAPPY DRY SHAMPOO.

Because my first impression was not great (possibly due to faulty bottle) I decided to give this product another try. 

This product is advertised to contain 0 Paraben and Colorants, and is available for $2.49CAD~$3.99CAD

PROS:

• DID NOT leave a white caste 

• Absorbed oils

• Has a sweet PEACH smell

CONS:

• CAN BE DRYING

• If you over spray, you can smell the ALCOHOL 

Overall: I would RECOMMEND this product ONLY if you have OILY hair and DO NOT OVERSPRAY. Though this product did not LEAK like my first one, I still feel like the product is decreasing fast (I have only used it less than 5 times, and it's almost completely GONE- I only spray about 2 spritz MAX each time)

REVIEW: NYC in a New York minute Nail Polish #202 Grand Central Station QUICK DRY

This nail polish is part of my WEEKLY REVIEW

I bought this nail polish at WALMART as a part of 2 for $3CAD deal! I have been looking for a QUICK DRY nail polish that provided adequate SHINE 

When I bought this nail polish, I could tell that the brush looked a bit FRAYED (all of the available nail polish in this shade had this problem) BUT when I used it the straying bristles just gathered together and DID NOT give me any problems.

PROS:

• Great consistency- NOT GOUPY or too watery 
• Dried completely in about 2 min 
• Provides adequate SHINE

CONS: 

• Did NOT see a difference in whether this product helped to keep my polish on for longer

OVERALL: I would RECOMMEND this product.  For the price you really can not go wrong. It dries COMPLETELY within 2 min and DID not feel GOUPY, I used to nails to lightly scratch but it DID NOT leave a mark.

REVIEW: ELF STUDIO LIP STAIN

The 3 shades I have are:(in TOTAL this product has 8 SHADES)

• I used these products WITHOUT any lip balm /lip liner/lip gloss and DID NOT touch up

PROS:

• Colour can be BUILT UP

• The colour CAN last a very long time (about 6 hours)

• Will STAIN lips (without lip balm- it DRIES and settles into the fine lines/dry spots on your lips)

CONS:

• The formula is VERY WATERY almost a OILY feel

• Dries to a MATT finish but it IS DRYING

• The GLOSS wand is VERY HARD- the texture is VERY HARD

OVERALL: I WOULD RECOMMEND this product- IF you use it with a LIP BALME and apply your own gloss. It DID STAIN my lips, but remember that it is DRYING WITHOUT LIP GLOSS.

THIS one is in the colour DEEP(#81205)

(This product comes in a TOTAL of 5 SHADES)

• The product is DOUBLE ENDED 

• The TOP RIGHT shows the EYEBROW BRUSH/"TAME" end brush has SHORT and SPIRALS DOWN in the SAME LENGTH

• The other end is the "TREAT" end is a STRAIGHT brush, it IS somewhat flexible 

The "TREAT" end is suppose to help with the RE-GROWTH of your eyebrow

PROS:

• The colour is VERY PIGMENTED

• The "TAME" brush has FIBRE like materials attached to it, making it easier for the formula to adhere to your eyebrow (even if you don't have a lot of hair)
• The "TREAT" end acts as a BROW GEL 

• The colour WILL NOT rub off once it is DRY

• DOES NOT dry out/ or make your eyebrows "crispy"

CONS:

• The product can get GOUPY at the END of the "TAME" brush

OVERALL: I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND this product to EVERYONE!!! There is enough colour selection that I think everyone will be able to find their own brow shade. The product WORKS BEST if you BRUSH through your brows AFTER.

I would this RECOMMEND this EVEN to BEGINNERS. I would probably say that it will WORK BETTER if you already have some eyebrow hairs to work with, as the formula sticks to HAIR better. It still DOES FILL in the areas where you LACK HAIR.

This is a PERFECT product for those days when you don't want to take the time (in my case I just lack the skills) to DRAW your brow and FILL them in neatly with a powder product. 

I have the Benefit Gimme Brow ($26CAD) AND the SEVERAL ANASTASIA BEVERLY HILLS (anywhere from $20~60CAD) and I REACH for this product A LOT more often. It is sooo much easier to use and you CAN NOT BEAT the price ($3)

REVIEW: Essence METAL GLAM BLUSH 01 GLAM-ME

Essence METAL GLAM BLUSH in 01 GLAM -ME is part of my WEEKLY REVIEW

This blush was a part of the METAL GLAM display from ESSENCE COSMETICS and is APPROXIMATELY $3.25 CAD

**I realize I SHOULD NOT have done a review on this product as this the METAL GLAM display is no longer available at the MAJORITY of the Shopper's Drug Marts(I was just lucky enough to find displays that were still up at SOME Shopper's Drug Marts)**

L: The product RIGHT OUT OF THE TUBER: The product BLENDED OUT, HAS a HIGH SHEEN and CONTAINS FINE SHIMMER

PROS:

• VERY pigmented

• The FORMULA is VERY CREAMY and ESAY to BLEND

• You can BUILD UP the product to your liking

• Although there is SHIMMER in the product it is VER FINE

CONS:

• MUST BLEND FAST, Once it dries it is harder to blend.

OVERALL: I WOULD RECOMMEND this product to anyone who likes a blush with a SHEEN and SHIMMER. You only need a TINY bit of the product EACH TIME and for under $5 CAD you can't beat it!

REVIEW: L'Oreal REVITALIFT MIRACLE BLUR -Instant Skin Smoother Finishing Cream

L'Oreal REVITALIFT MIRACLE BLUR- Instant Skin Smoother Finishing Cream is part of my WEEKLY REVIEW

I found mine at WALMART for $21.96 CAD (This seems to be the cheapest REGULAR PRICE)

The purpose of this product is to act UNDER MAKEUP as a PRIMER or act ALONE as a SKIN SMOOTHER

I have the ORIGINAL formula (there is also a OIL FREE formula):

• As seen from the ABOVE picture, it comes out as a THICK consistency 

• Once it is BLENDED it will leave NO VISIBLE FILM 

• LET DRY before applying MAKEUP to stop the makeup from SLIDING

PROS:

• NON SCENTED

• Very smooth finish- DEFINITELY smooths out skin (Blurs out fine lines/pores)

• You can see a SIGNIFICANT difference even if you DO NOT put makeup on 

CONS:

• Will STICK TO DRY SPOTS 

OVERALL: I WOULD RECOMMEND this product:

• Though it is on the pricier side a LITTLE DOT will go a LONG WAY

• The product GOES ON SMOOTHLY and smoothes out your skin, BUT DOES NOT FEEL GREASY

• Can be used both UNDER and OVER makeup

This is a GREAT alternative and for me WORKS BETTER than the MAKEUP FOREVER primers that easily go from $30~$50 (I have used both the MICROPERFECTING primer and the ALL MATT primers). Let me know how this WORKED FOR YOU!!!

PROS:

• Pigmented
• The colour can be built up- to personal preference 
• Great staying power (I wore the blush for about 6 hours- MINIMAL fading)

CONS:

• CAN be POWDERY IF you DO NOT blend it properly 

OVERALL: ** I HAVE TO APOLOGIZE- I SHOULD NOT HAVE done this review NOW...as I realize this is probably NO LONGER available as it was a special collection**

I WOULD RECOMMEND this product. The price is VERY reasonable and you get A LOT of product. The blush HAS A SHEEN (personally I do not mind), and is very pigmented, so you HAVE TO BLEND out well. If you can still get your hands on it it's WORTH A TRY!!!

REVIEW: Wet n' Wild H2O Proof Liquid Eyeliner

I'm review this product as a part of my WEEKLY REVIEW series. 

I'm always on the lookout for WATERPROOF eyeliners. My HOLY GRAIL waterproof eyeliner is the ESSENCE WATERPROOF LIQUID EYELINER(<- CLICK for the REVIEW)

BUT that doesn't mean I've STOPPED looking...it's always nice to have MORE THAN ONE holy grail products! I remember reading/watching review on the WET n' WILD H2O PROOF LIQUID EYELINER a long time ago...and decided to pick one up! They range from $5.96 CAD-$6.89CAD each.

The applicator is VERY POINTY

The applicator IS NOT FLEXIBLE 

The formula is VERY THICK

Takes a while to DRY

*It's hard to tell in the picture, but it actually has a GLOSSY finish**

I wore the eyeliner for about 6 hours, it DID LAST and was WATERPROOF (I washed my face with WATER) BUT THIS happened after an hour (do remember that I have OILY eyelids)

And it KEPT happening throughout the day. (I had to wipe the transfer about 3 TIMES)

** Please remember that I AM A BEGINNER at applying eyeliner/ I HAVE OILY eyelids and these are just MY EXPERIENCE with the product**

PROS:

• The formula IS waterproof. If you don't have oily eyelids it MAY not transfer like it did on my eyelids.

CONS:

• VERY POINTY TIP/NOT FLEXIBLE- the tip is SO POINTY and not flexible that it felt like I was POKING myself while I was applying this product

• The formula of the product is REALLY THICK and DOES NOT apply smoothly NOR does it distribute the product evenly (I had to go over parts of my eyes several times to MATCH the darkness/thickness)

• IF you have OILY eyelids, it will SMUDGE many times 

• I could FEEL (almost a drying feeling) the product on my lids throughout the day

OVERALL:  There are MANY MANY products that I LOVE from Wet n' Wild, but this one IS NOT one that I would recommend.

I do realize that sometimes product formula is up to PERSONAL PREFERENCE...but I really felt UNCOMFORTABLE APPLYING the product. Even though it is somewhat inexpensive I would still say SKIP IT!

FIRST IMPRESSIONS : HERBAL ESSENCE DRY SHAMPOO

HERBAL ESSENCE recently came out with a NEW LINE that includes 2 NEW DRY SHAMPOOS 

THIS POST is a FIRST IMPRESSIONS that will be UPDATED into a full REVIEW. FIRST IMPRESSIONS mean that I have only had the chance to try the product a few times, and therefore do not feel that I can come up with a FINAL DECISION regarding the product.

I FIRST PURCHASED the COLOR ME HAPPY- INSTANT CLEAN & COLOR PROTECTION formula......They are between $2.49CAD(Walmart)-$3.99CAD each.

I FIRST chose to BUY this formula because I recently colored my HAIR. Here is how I feel about it SO FAR:

• AMAZING SMELL- Smells EXACTLY like the classic HERBAL ESSENCE SHAMPOO. I know it has pictures of roses on the bottle, but I do not think it has any overwhelming scent of roses at all (Personal preference- I HATE rose smells).

• The SECOND ingredient listed is ALCOHOL so OVER SPRAYING it will give you a strong ALCOHOL smell. ALSO the smell UNFORTUNATELY DOES NOT LINGER :(
  

• VERY FINE MIST- AFTER the first 1-2 pumps (the 1'st pumps come out REALLY concentrated- COULD be because I was pressing the nozzle part quit hard as well)

• Did not dry out my hair (I had 3rd day hair...so it was quit greasy)

!!!INCIDENT!!!!!- I stored the product in a drawer (lying down)...and THE NEXT DAY...when I shook the bottle (your suppose the shake it before use) it was HALF EMPTY AND the product WOULD NOT COME OUT. Here is what I'm thinking/hoping

The product being HALF EMPTY: THIS has happened to me before when I DID NOT keep the product standing. I've had other dry shampoos LEAK....so I guess at least it's good that this one DID NOT LEAK....BUT this makes me think maybe the product escaped through the nozzle?! 

LET ME EXPLAIN- As you can see from the above picture, the nozzle is really really tiny, AFTER I was down spraying...I could hear a FIZZLE sound and see a very thin amount of mist coming out of the nozzle. I TRIED pressing on the nozzle but it would not stop....and eventually the FINE MIST STOPPED. So I LEFT IT....I wondering if the product just kept ESCAPING through the NOZZLE?!

The SECOND PROBLEM of the product NOT COMING OUT- I tried WASHING the nozzle- AND RUNNING it UNDER WARM WATER...and STILL NOTHING. The nozzle will NOT BUDGE.

I've ONLY used the product ONCE, so this is a tiny bit upsetting, even if it only between $2.49CAD-$3.99CAD. MONEY IS MONEY, and it's a complete waste if it only works ONCE.

LUCKILY (?!) I had a Walmart gift card, so I decided to try out the SECOND FORMULA- HERBAL ESSENCE NAKED  0% Paraben/Colorant DRY SHAMPOO.

ALCOHOL is ALSO the second ingredient.

I REALLY REALLY SERIOUSLY REALLY hope THIS one WORKS.

I will be UPDATING once I feel I have tried the products long enough! So COME BACK SOON!

REVIEW: ESSENCE METAL GLAM EYESHADOW- 03 FROSTED APPLE $2.99 CAD

I hauled the ESSENCE METAL GLAM EYESHADOW in 03 FROSTED APPLE from the NEW IN TOWN collection.

In the NEW IN TOWN collection I saw at Shopper's Drug Mart there were 3 SHADES in total. They are $2.99CAD each!

Unfortunately I forgot to take a photo before I started swatching... BUT there is a TOP LAYER OF GLITTER

The glitter is FINE...but as you can see from the LEFT PICTURE, once you swatch it, the product BALLS UP

It get pretty POWDERY, and to apply you have to BLOW OFF the EXCESS products

The pigmentation is NOT BAD, but the FALL OUT is way too much.





Thinking that perhaps the FALL OUT would EVENTUALLY stop I KEPT SWATCHING.....
but there was NO END

In the RIGHT PICTURES, I had been swatching for a GOOD 6-8 times, and there were still PRODUCT FALL OUT.


PROS:

• PIGMENTED colour- the colour is quit nice- it's a IRIDESCENT PINK

• DOES NOT crease

CONS:

• ALOT of FALL OUT- This means you REALLY have to get RID of ALOT of products before you can properly apply it to your eyes

OVERALL: I would NOT recommend this product the there is SO MUCH FALL OUT that you would have to waste ALOT of product for a even application on the eyes. I will definitely NOT repurchase. Though the price is great, there are SO MANY OTHER GREAT ESSENCE eyeshadows that I recommend you try. I will try to use this product since I CANNOT return it, but I hope you don't make the same mistake!

I have a weakness for the word "NEW" ...AND that is why I bought the ESSENCE SILKY TOUCH BLUSH  (60 LIFE's A CHERRY)

• The blush is VERY PIGMENTED 

• Has a sheen

• Is BUILD ABLE 

PROS:

• DOES NOT fade throughout the day (I wore it for about 6 hours)

• The colour is VERY PIGMENTED

• VERY soft - "SILKY"

• It is ALSO BUILD ABLE 

• ONLY $2.99 CAD

CONS:  NON

OVERALL: I would DEFINITELY RECOMMEND this to EVERYONE!!! The blush comes in 4 different shades, and for $2.99CAD each I can't wait to try more!

REVIEW: STAYS no matter what- Waterproof eye (pencil 02 stunning brown)-$1.99

I purchased ESSENCE STAY no matter what- Waterproof eye pencil NOT to use as a eye pencil...but for my eye brows. 

The WATERPROOF part really caught my eyes. 

• I wore this in my eyebrow (I did not include a picture...as my eyebrows were pretty UNTAMED) for about 6 hours, it did not FADE

• You DO have to brush through it, as it will ball up a tiny tiny tiny bit

• DOES NOT have a RED undertone

• PERFECT for my BLACK eyebrows- NOT TOO DARK

PROS:

• Very creamy - would be a good eye liner 

• DOES NOT smudge

• I wore it to the gym, and the sweat DID NOT make it run

• ONLY $1.99 CAD

CONS:

• IS NOT a TWIST UP- You will have to SHARPEN- This could be a hassle- The surrounding is HARD PLASTIC

• If NOT careful (REMEMBER I WENT over the same SPOT OVER AND OVER) it will ball up a tiny tiny tiny bit.

OVERALL: I would HIGHLY recommend this product, both as a eye liner OR alternatively as a EYE BROW PENCIL. I have both the Anastasia Brow pencil AS well as the Benifit Brow Pencil-THIS ONE is just as good- especially the PRICE!!! JUST REMEMBER to BRUSH through your brows!

REVIEW: ESSENCE GET BIG! lashes mascara- $3.99 (NEW IN TOWN collection)

ESSENCE GET BIG! lashes mascara is the second mascara I hauled from ESSENCE. This mascara is also a part of the NEW TOWN COLLECTION.

• NOT WATERPROOF

• BIG wand- it's hard to see in the picture but the wand has a TINY BED in the middle

• It looks as though it MAY have FIBERS attached to the bristles

Here are my lashes BEFORE applying the mascara/curling

HERE are my lashes AFTER ONE coat of the mascara and CURLING it 

• I DID NOT feel like the bristles really grabbed my lashes

• The brush was also very big, making it hard to maneuver

• The formula did grab the tips of my lashes, but did NOT help increase VOLUME in my opinion 

• Did not weigh my lashes down too much, DID NOT need to curl my lashes throughout the day 

• The FORMULA is on the drier side 

PROS:

• Does not smudge

• Will keep eye lashes curled through the day

• Does add length to the lashes

• Only $3.99 CAD

CONS:

• The brush is too big (personal preference)

• The formula DOES NOT grab onto lashes

• HARD to get the TINY lashes.

OVERALL: First, remember that mascaras are really UP TO PERSONAL PREFERENCE and LASH TYPES, with that in mind. I WOULD NOT repurchase this particular mascara BUT I do think it is worth a try,  ESPECIALLY if you are looking more for LENGTH than volume, and DO NOT mind the BIG brush.

REVIEW: ESSENCE LASH MANIA RELOADED mascara

I recently HAULED some ESSENCE cosmetics . A NEW item from that haul is the ESSENCE LASH MANIA RELOADED MASCARA. I hauled this from the NEW IN TOWN collection from Essence. 

• It IS NOT a waterproof mascara. It has PLASTIC SPIKY bristles (DOES NOT HURT).

• As you can see from the picture, it has 6 SEPARATE columns of bristles.

My lashes POINT DOWN, and WILL NOT HOLD a curl on their own. They are quit SHORT as well.

HERE are my LASHES AFTER ONE COAT of the mascara (I CURLED my lashes BEFORE applying the MASCARA)

• The FORMULA is VERY WET (I PREFER THIS over DRY)

• I wore it for about 6 HOURS and there were NO SMUDGING UNDERNEATH my eyes

• IF you do NOT wait for it to dry and CURL your lashes, it MAY transfer a TINY bit on your eyelids

• KEPT my CURLS- DID NOT use eyelash curler throughout the day

PROS:

• DOES NOT smudge

• KEEPS eye lashes CURLED - I was VERY IMPRESSED- MOST mascara that ARE NOT waterproof DO NOT KEEP my lashes curled. SOME WATERPROOF mascaras WEIGH my lashes down. THIS DID NEITHER. 

• Easy to take off

• Provided adequate LENGTH and VOLUME (I would say MORE LENGTH than volume)

• ONLY $4.99 CAD

CONS:

• Has a VERY WET formula

OVERALL: I would STRONGLY recommend this MASCARA, even if you do not like the wet formula, you could wait for it to dry up a bit. The price is GREAT at $4.99 CAD, AND it LENGTHENS AND VOLUMES as well as HOLDS CURLS. 

I HOPE they decide to keep this in the permanent collection as I would REPURCHASE this product in a heart beat!
