REVIEW: Hard Candy Glamoflauge Lite

Hard Candy Glamoflauge Lite is part of Hard Candy's release of new products 

The "Glamoflauge" is a KNOWN HEAVY DUTY Hard Candy concealer. This particular product is suppose to be a "LITE" version of that

I am reviewing in as a part of my WEEKLY REVIEW 3/24/2014I purchased mine at my local WALMART for $5.98CAD

On the product it says "A multitasking correcting &correcting stick with two shades for a seamless, even complexion....ONE SIDE corrects blemishes undertone and the OTHER conceals blemish with matching skin tone"

The product is DOUBLE ENDED one side seem to be of a LIGHTER COLOUR (I believe to correct the blemishes undertone) and the OTHER SIDE is the actual shade of your skin 

The corrector seems to have a PINKY/SALMON undertone, which WOULD be good for your under eyes...but it was TOO DRY for me 

PROS:

• Will conceal blemishes- MED~HEAVY coverage

CONS:

• Is NOT very creamy

• HARD to BLEND

• Is DRYING

OVERALL: I would NOT recommend this product. Though the coverage is ver nice, the formula is NOT CREAMY ENOUGH and I found it HARD TO BLEND into my skin. This formula was also VER DRYING (I have combo-oily skin ...and it STILL dried my skin). I feel like it really gave me a "CAKEY" look. I would say TRY the ORIGINAL GLAMOFLAUGE instead!

Review: Cover Girl Flamed Up MEGA CURL

Cover Girl Flamed Up MEGA CURL is part my my WEEKLY REVIEW 3/24/2014 I purchased mine at WALMART for $5.89CAD

This mascara is the second one in the FLAMED UP mascara by Cover Girl 

The BIGGEST difference between the two mascara is the BRUSH

The brush from the MEGA CURL is CURVED

The brush TAPERS down

HERE are my lashes WITHOUT any products

Lashes with ONE COAT of mascara and CURLED

PROS:

• Will add LENGTH

• Does NOT Smudge/Flake

CONS:

• Will NOT keep CURLS

• Will CLUMP

• Did NOT add volume (just clumped my lashes together)

OVERALL: I would ONLY recommend it to someone who is looking JUST for LENGTHENING. I found that the formula CLUMPED and DID not keep my eyelashes CURLED 

(Please REMEMBER that MY LASHES are different from yours...and they will usually NOT stay CURLED unless I use a WATERPROOF formula)

REVIEW: Rimmel Scandaleyes SHOW OFF mascara

I am REVIEWING this product as a part of my WEEKLY REVIEW

This SHOW OFF mascara is part of the RIMMEL SCANDALEYES collection. The whole series has a total of 5 mascaras. This is my second review from the SCANDALEYES. 

(Here's the review for the RETRO GLAM mascara from this collection)

This product retails for $5.98 CAD at select drugstores in CANADA

 On the tube it states that this mascara is suppose to give you "defined volume, life and length. Flat brush plumps, unique ball brush lifts and defines. Show off with no clumps!"

HERE are my eyes WITHOUT and products

My lashes POINT DOWN and usually WILL NOT hold a curl unless I use WATERPROOF mascara

• The wand has a mace like ball tip. The bristles are plastic 
• The wand is flexible 

PROS:

• Did a OKAY job separating and adding a TINY bit of length to lashes

CONS:

• The mascara SMUDGED and FLAKED throughout the day (I first noticed flaking after about an HOUR)

• Hard to use the mace like ball tip, because you would get GLOPES of products on it 

• Though I only used one coat, I can easily see this product CLUMPING if a second coat were to be applied 

OVERALL: I would NOT RECOMMEND this product. Though it did a OKAY job lengthening and separating, it DID NOT add any volume to my lashes :(

REVIEW: Wet n' Wild H2O Proof Liquid Eyeliner

I'm review this product as a part of my WEEKLY REVIEW series. 

I'm always on the lookout for WATERPROOF eyeliners. My HOLY GRAIL waterproof eyeliner is the ESSENCE WATERPROOF LIQUID EYELINER(<- CLICK for the REVIEW)

BUT that doesn't mean I've STOPPED looking...it's always nice to have MORE THAN ONE holy grail products! I remember reading/watching review on the WET n' WILD H2O PROOF LIQUID EYELINER a long time ago...and decided to pick one up! They range from $5.96 CAD-$6.89CAD each.

The applicator is VERY POINTY

The applicator IS NOT FLEXIBLE 

The formula is VERY THICK

Takes a while to DRY

*It's hard to tell in the picture, but it actually has a GLOSSY finish**

I wore the eyeliner for about 6 hours, it DID LAST and was WATERPROOF (I washed my face with WATER) BUT THIS happened after an hour (do remember that I have OILY eyelids)

And it KEPT happening throughout the day. (I had to wipe the transfer about 3 TIMES)

** Please remember that I AM A BEGINNER at applying eyeliner/ I HAVE OILY eyelids and these are just MY EXPERIENCE with the product**

PROS:

• The formula IS waterproof. If you don't have oily eyelids it MAY not transfer like it did on my eyelids.

CONS:

• VERY POINTY TIP/NOT FLEXIBLE- the tip is SO POINTY and not flexible that it felt like I was POKING myself while I was applying this product

• The formula of the product is REALLY THICK and DOES NOT apply smoothly NOR does it distribute the product evenly (I had to go over parts of my eyes several times to MATCH the darkness/thickness)

• IF you have OILY eyelids, it will SMUDGE many times 

• I could FEEL (almost a drying feeling) the product on my lids throughout the day

OVERALL:  There are MANY MANY products that I LOVE from Wet n' Wild, but this one IS NOT one that I would recommend.

I do realize that sometimes product formula is up to PERSONAL PREFERENCE...but I really felt UNCOMFORTABLE APPLYING the product. Even though it is somewhat inexpensive I would still say SKIP IT!

REVIEW: ESSENCE METAL GLAM EYESHADOW- 03 FROSTED APPLE $2.99 CAD

I hauled the ESSENCE METAL GLAM EYESHADOW in 03 FROSTED APPLE from the NEW IN TOWN collection.

In the NEW IN TOWN collection I saw at Shopper's Drug Mart there were 3 SHADES in total. They are $2.99CAD each!

Unfortunately I forgot to take a photo before I started swatching... BUT there is a TOP LAYER OF GLITTER

The glitter is FINE...but as you can see from the LEFT PICTURE, once you swatch it, the product BALLS UP

It get pretty POWDERY, and to apply you have to BLOW OFF the EXCESS products

The pigmentation is NOT BAD, but the FALL OUT is way too much.





Thinking that perhaps the FALL OUT would EVENTUALLY stop I KEPT SWATCHING.....
but there was NO END

In the RIGHT PICTURES, I had been swatching for a GOOD 6-8 times, and there were still PRODUCT FALL OUT.


PROS:

• PIGMENTED colour- the colour is quit nice- it's a IRIDESCENT PINK

• DOES NOT crease

CONS:

• ALOT of FALL OUT- This means you REALLY have to get RID of ALOT of products before you can properly apply it to your eyes

OVERALL: I would NOT recommend this product the there is SO MUCH FALL OUT that you would have to waste ALOT of product for a even application on the eyes. I will definitely NOT repurchase. Though the price is great, there are SO MANY OTHER GREAT ESSENCE eyeshadows that I recommend you try. I will try to use this product since I CANNOT return it, but I hope you don't make the same mistake!

REVIEW: KIRKLAND (COSTCO) PRE-MOISTENED TOWELETTES

I HAVE been LOOKING for MAKEUP REMOVER wipes that DO NOT leave a residue OR dry out my skin....when I stumbled onto these.

I have seen a few people on Youtube review them...but HERE is MINE!

WHERE TO PURCHASE: I found mine at my local COSTCO, KIRKLAND is COSTCO's own brand. They are around $12~$13 CAD. OR According to COSTCO US they are $37.99 USD (this includes SHIPPING and HANDLING- I could NOT find them on the COSTCO CANADA SITE)

The wipes comes in a box with a TOTAL of 300 WIPES. The TRAVEL SIZE contains 15 wipes, while the REGULAR SIZE contains 30.

PROS:

• Good price. (300 wipes for $13CAD equals to about 4.3CENT a wipe)

• Great SIZE- I have a big face...and these wipes covers my face!
  

• VERY moistened 

• VERY durable (they are quilted) but quit soft

• You can use BOTH sides of the wipe

• When using it to take off swatches, it will not dry up easily.

CONS:

• I DO NOT consider my self to have a sensitive nose...but these wipes are VERY scented. It's NOT an entirely UNPLEASANT scent...but it DOES linger

• I have NORMAL-COMBO skin during the winter months (Where my T-Zone will get oily through out the day) these wipes DRIED MY SKIN- to the point where I COULD SEE my skin flaking (I DID think of the possibility of not exfoliating- but I tried exfoliating regularly, moisturizing and it STILL DRIED my skin!)

• Can ONLY be found at COSTCO

OVERALL: Keeping in mind I have NORMAL-COMBO skin AND I live in a REALLY cold town, I WOULD NOT recommend this to anyone who may be ALREADY experiencing dry skin. I also WOULD NOT recommend this to anyone with SENSITIVE skin, as I am quit sure the perfume in this product WILL IRRITATE your skin :(

I really wish I HAD READ more reviews before buying....I bought 2 boxes as they were on sale (I believe $3 off original price) So I'm stuck with 600 WIPES...I have been rinsing them out and using them...OR using them to wipe swatches off of my hands #_#

REVIEW: NYX SOHO GLAM GLAMOUR SOHO COLLECTION

THIS collection has been available for sometime.
I purchased mine from REXALL PHARMA PLUS here in CANADA for $19.00 CAD

I thought it was quite reasonable BUT I recently found it on SALE for $10.99 AT the SAME REXALL PHARMA PLUS!!!!

I know when I first found mine, it was around NOV/DEC, so it makes sense for them to put it on sale- CHECK YOUR LOCAL REXALL PHARMA PLUS!!

HERE GOES THE REVIEW!

This palette(?!)/collection comes with:

• 52 Eye Shadows (MAJORITY of the shadows are SHIMMERY, with few MATTS)

• 4 Blushes

• 8 lip colours

• 1 lip liner (not pictured)

• 2 lip gloss'(not pictured)

*ON the NYX website they also state 4 "face colours" I ASSUMED they meant the blushes?!- The RETAIL VALUE on the site is listed as $30.00 USD**

SWATCHES

LEFT SIDE EYESHADOWS

The LEFT side contains 24 shadows. It was too much to swatch all 24 shadows at once- so I swatched 2 columns at a time. This side contains the NEUTRAL eyeshadows.

The individuals shadow DO NOT have names. The HEART indicates that it is a MATT shadow.

I know this picture is more zoomed in than the other, ONLY because I HAD to zoom in this close for you to be able to see the colour at all ^@^

RIGHT SIDE EYE SHADOWS

The RIGHT side also contains 24 eyeshadows. Similarly I swatched 2 columns at a time. This side contains more of the COLOURFUL eyeshadows.

The HEART shows the MATT shadows

THE CENTRE COMPARTMENT EYESHADOW

＊＊ONLY the FIRST BLACK shadow is MATT in this section**

EYESHADOW OVERALL REVIEW: As seen in the swatches. Some of the eyeshadows are NOT pigmented at all *_* Here is the DIFFERENCE when you use them WET

L=Left   R=Right

As you can see from the ABOVE swatches. The EYESHADOW on the LEFT (L) side has barely ANY pigmentation. ONCE I WET my fingers by wiping them on a baby wipe, they can be quit PIGMENTED.

BLUSHES

Thought it may not look like it, the ONLY MATT BLUSH is the LAST ONE on the RIGHT. The 3rd one from the LEFT is more like a bronzer shade. Overall they are quit pigmented.

LIP COLOURS

As you can see from the above swatches they are NOT OPQAUE. I would say you would get more uses out of them as LIP GLOSS' on TOP of something more opaque. 

I did TRY TO BUILD up the colours, but they became quit STICKY. I DO have a DARKER/YELLOW undertone....so they may WORK for someone with a lighter PINK undertone!

LIP GLOSS/ LIP LINER

The set comes with 2 LIP GLOSS' and ONE Lip Liner

The FIRST LIP GLOSS (They don't have names) is swatched on the TOP RIGHT- is VERY SPARKLY. But you CAN NOT feel the glitter. This one has more of a PURPLE sheen.

The LIP LINER (also NO name) is a baby pink, that CAN BE BUILT up color wise.

The SECOND GLOSS (no name is given)- is also sparkly, the SPARKLY is FINER than the FIRST GLOSS. It is more of a BABY PINK

OVERALL:

I would ONLY recommend them to someone if THEY WERE ON SALE, or you are a beginner (ME) and just want to play around with some colours without spending a FORTUNE. I don't think I would pay $30USD, or even the $19.99 CAD AGAIN.

PROS:

• INEXPENSIVE...for the AMOUNT of products you are getting
• The blushes ARE pigmented

CONS:

• MANY of the eyeshadows are NOT pigmented....will only show up if used WET

• The packaging is quit BULKY

• The lip colours do not show up, IS QUIT STICKY
